TYC vs. other catalog names?

Why does Sky-Map use TYC catalog names for dim stars? I know Wikipedia isn't perfect, but for many notable dim stars they don't even list TYC names as one of the many alternates they show. This makes it hard to cross-reference these stars to get more information. For example, Ross 154, (V1216 Sagittarii, Proxima Sagittarii) is here called TYC 6859-1332-1.

TYCHO (TYC, 2.5M stars) is the next major general catalog after Henry Draper catalog (HD, 270k stars) supported in SKY-MAP. For now SKY-MAP does not directly implements many specialized catalogs like Variable stars, Glise or Ross though you can search by any of those names (SKY-MAP uses CDS online search services for the extended searches).
Cross reference was always big issue for us (especially dealing with hundreds of millions of data entries), but for individual cross-reference resolution the search together with VizieR service usually help (see "Request more catalogs and designations from VizieR" link on objects view page)
