Who runs this site - are you russians? My mother's russian and I am interested in what's going on in this huge starange country. It seems like KGB is totally driving it?

I've born in Russia, but now I'm in Canada for quite some time, so I know about latest developments in Russia just from news and from relatives...

Moi papinnaya dedushka bil iz Rossii. No ksojaleniyu ya ne widel evo ni raz(on bil uje umer kogda ya rodilsya).
Ya uchilsya russkii 4let v Mongolo-Rossiiskom sovmestnom shkole v Mongolii. Ya otlichno ponimayu po russkii, no ne tak uj horosho govoryu. Potomu shto ne upotreblyayu russkovo pochti, i poetomu poslednee vremya nemnojko zabiwayu...
No ya ponimayu vseh bez problem po russkii-astronomicheskie bukwi, i televizionnie programmi.

My dad's dad was Russian. But unfortunately, I've never seen him, because he wasn't already when I was born.
I've learned Russian in Mongolian-Russian joint school here in Mongolia for 4 years. I understand Russian very well, but I cannot speak that much. Because, nowadays I don't use so often it...
But at least, I understand TV programms and astronomy-physics books in Russian without any problems.

Well it's not really very cold in Toronto area. Great lakes make it much warmer. And Canada is huge and it looks differently in different places. Here is Toronto:
