Filtering the star map by distance

Postby rphair » Wed May 23, 2007 3:48 pm

Is it possible to display only those objects that are within a certain distance of Earth, for example those that within 100 light-years?

We are currently working on filtering system that would allow search by many different criteria including distance. As soon as this system is ready, it will be possible to display only objects from the set that is the result of query to our DB. For example it may be neutron stars that are not closer that 200,000 l.y. to Earth.

This filtering system is quite complicated and it will take several weeks for us to finish it.

Thanks.
